Admin BuckeyeGal Posted January 20 Admin Share Posted January 20 We need something to track, and this has been consistent over the past several days. Currently looks like a transitional system with lots of warm air preceding it.. but could be sneaky. 🙂

Moderators Central Illinois Posted January 21 Moderators Share Posted January 21 GFS yesterday had low 60's for highs in the GL/OV region after this event 🤣 1

mafa
Potential for some wet paste on the NW side of this storm. A more dynamic system could generate its own cold air. Otherwise temps are marginal.
MesoscaleBanding
Would certainly help get through the upcoming mild pattern if we could luck into several inches of wet snow. Looks like about a 4 county-wide band though, LOL
Admin BuckeyeGal Posted January 23 Author Admin Share Posted January 23 I get that we're way warmer than we should be for January.. but this 'torch' doesn't look all that terrible to me. 40s for the highs.. with several chances for snow peppered throughout the next few weeks. I do see a potential pattern swing to colder the second week of February, too. Feel like with systems like this.. we can get through the blahs!

Too warm for snow, I rather be in the 50s and 60s then 😁 1

Admin BuckeyeGal Posted January 23 Author Admin Share Posted January 23 The Euro is trending interestingly (to my untrained eyes). Supported somewhat by other models.

MesoscaleBanding
Temps are so marginal (32-34F in the cold sector)... Here's the 12z Euro - we would have the darkness factor working for us as most of this would fall after midnight Sat. night into Sun. morning... Jpfalcon
With the lack of cold air, not expecting much of anything from this system. Anything that would fall is likely to be wet, low ratio snow that would end up being a slop fest.
Admin BuckeyeGal Posted January 23 Author Admin Share Posted January 23 Slop fest = better than 33 degree rain. 😄

Admin BuckeyeGal Posted January 24 Author Admin Share Posted January 24 Just not enough cold air, and the storm itself isn't strong enough to wrap more in.
