Moderators Hiramite Posted July 13, 2022 Moderators Posted July 13, 2022 Water spout spectacular!!! Google's Finnish to English translation.... At the weekend, there were spectacular sea surface-shattering tornadoes in the sea area between Pyhämaa and Kustav, which can be destructive at sea and on land. At the same time, thrombi were visible at their best 7. The picture was taken by an LSMV employee in North Åland. 1
Moderators StretchCT Posted July 13, 2022 Moderators Posted July 13, 2022 Being Irish and having traveled to Ireland, I know to expect rain. But two weeks of little rain is magical.

But two weeks of little rain is magical. There could be near all time record heat in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Northern France. The GFS has things getting as high as 106, but the Euro is less extreme, with showing highs getting up to 100. 2
Moderators StretchCT Posted July 15, 2022 Moderators Posted July 15, 2022 (edited) London's all time record high is 100.6. Going to be close per GFS. Some 115 temps over Hungary and Serbia later as well. Not sure how often that happens there. Spain I always thought got hot, not eastern Europe. Hungary's record is 107. Serbia is 113. Belgium's record high is 39.2 (102) and the GFS has that beat by 8 degrees. Netherlands high was 39.9, just shy of 104. Both these records set in 2019. Edited July 15, 2022 by StretchCT 2

Moderators StretchCT Posted July 18, 2022 Moderators Posted July 18, 2022 Couple of 100s in England 100.6 is London all time and they got to 99. Funnier part was me trying to figure out what time 16z was in London then realizing its 16:00. 2

Even places much further south here in the US like Northern New England, Upstate New York, most of Michigan, and Western PA rarely see temperatures getting near or at 100.

Moderators StretchCT Posted July 19, 2022 Moderators Posted July 19, 2022 While UK hit its all time record hottest temperature today, I'll point out that 7 of the 10 hottest days have happened since 2003. Also point out that this was 6.3 degrees over the 1911 record which stood until 1990, and its 5.6 above the 1990 record. Usually you don't see records beaten by that much
