Johnstown twice, Agnes and her inundating record rainfall, just two examples Did you know that the tiny town of Smethport PA holds a world record for rainfall? It's true. A whopping 30 INCHES of RAIN fell in =<6hours in July 1942. YES YOU READ THAT RIGHT!! THIRTY INCHES OF RAIN essentially within the span of one summer's afternoon. Training thunderstorm along a stalled front conspired to make this record.
