I was not alive back then, but this storm was an absolute monster! It formed near Texas 30 years ago today, and what it did next was unlike any other...

This was such a remarkable storm that had a bit of everything.  To me, this and the November 1950 storm are the 2 most extreme and impactful non-tropical systems to affect the eastern United States in the 20th century.
