Damar Hamlin is still in Critical Condition, but he is awake, greatly improved, and is neurologically intact.

Not surprised.  Broken bone/concussion/other non-threatening injury and they would have continued.  But cardiac arrest is possible death/brain damage among the worst case scenarios. 

And yeah they're human.  So I can see how seeing that on the field can affect the players emotionally.

It's crazy to think he nearly died, went through all of this and has become the starting strong safety for the 2024-2025 Bills team. Amazing recovery.
