I'm biting. Pretty much every model is showing SOMETHING happening in this time frame, and as there are some rather important football games happening on 12/21.. it seems pertinent that we start watching a bit closer. Not going to show snow totals yet as it's almost impossible to currently capture it (can't use total with the baby clipper on its way today and 24 hours doesn't cover it all on some models). Post away!

The set up looks good. I think the northern and southern stream will need to be a little quicker to combine for this not to end up too far east. I think it’s a possibility they do and it could be a good storm. There would be some cold air in place as the system before this tracks over Lake Superior and bring in colder air.

I think this one will turn into a glorified clipper honestly. Hope I’m wrong.

That would still give it a chance to be the best event in memory.

There are really good signals for a storm around the Solstice, just not sure how much of the region it will impact or if it will be mainly farther east.

Bamwx is biting! They’ve been throwing hints about a Christmas storm, now a little bit ago on Twitter they said “possibly” December 22….

Call me shocked.  They would bite a tire iron and chew it if it got them traffic and clicks.

Hop I'm posting about the right storm...dates 20-22

Interesting if the storm blows up it will likely be through the Ohio Valley and not the coast.

FWIW, east Asia shows a trough but not much of anykind of storm.

To my untrained eye it really looks like most anything is still on the board.  Really high variance, which isn't surprising since we're still ~7 days out.

I appreciate you sharing the ensembles! As mentioned above, truly anything is on the table. Lots of shortwaves working through

this is about as bad as it could possibly look so it has to get better from here, a closed low in the gulf with the northern jet contained to Canada. Some timing differences could definitely change this, other models aren't quite as abysmal

I am going to the OSU-Tenn Playoff game on the 21st.  I’m torn on whether or not snow is a good idea for that one though. It would be wild to watch a game in a snowstorm, but I’m not sure I want it for a game of that magnitude.  I’m totally cool with the 22nd though.😂

Well, if the ICON is correct, there should be little issue with the game.
