Admin BuckeyeGal Posted December 12, 2024 Admin Posted December 12, 2024 I'm biting. Pretty much every model is showing SOMETHING happening in this time frame, and as there are some rather important football games happening on 12/21.. it seems pertinent that we start watching a bit closer. Not going to show snow totals yet as it's almost impossible to currently capture it (can't use total with the baby clipper on its way today and 24 hours doesn't cover it all on some models). Post away! 3

Wnwniner Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Chris Bailey from KY (Louisville?) seems to be biting somewhat, too. https://kyweathercenter.com/ 1
Indygirl Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Bamwx is biting! They’ve been throwing hints about a Christmas storm, now a little bit ago on Twitter they said “possibly” December 22….
SNOWBOB11 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 The set up looks good. I think the northern and southern stream will need to be a little quicker to combine for this not to end up too far east. I think it’s a possibility they do and it could be a good storm. There would be some cold air in place as the system before this tracks over Lake Superior and bring in colder air.
NWOhioChaser Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 I think this one will turn into a glorified clipper honestly. Hope I’m wrong. 1

cperry29 Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Euro AI has something around this timeframe the last few runs.
Hoosier Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 There are really good signals for a storm around the Solstice, just not sure how much of the region it will impact or if it will be mainly farther east.

Admin BuckeyeGal Posted December 12, 2024 Author Admin Posted December 12, 2024 May need to have two separate threads? One for 18-19 and one for 20-22? Models are confusing.
Grace Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Hop I'm posting about the right storm...dates 20-22 1 1

They would bite a tire iron and chew it if it got them traffic and clicks. Edited December 12, 2024 by beaver56 6

Grace Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 FWIW, east Asia shows a trough but not much of anykind of storm. 1 1

To my untrained eye it really looks like most anything is still on the board. Really high variance, which isn't surprising since we're still ~7 days out. 2
NWOhioChaser Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 Going to sit on the sidelines with this one and root for someone else. If I get scraps, I’ll take em! 1

Ohiobuckeye45 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 (edited) this is about as bad as it could possibly look so it has to get better from here, a closed low in the gulf with the northern jet contained to Canada. Some timing differences could definitely change this, other models aren't quite as abysmal Edited December 13, 2024 by Ohiobuckeye45
Ohiobuckeye45 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I'd rather just settle for this than deal with the above 2
Columbusbuckeye Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 I am going to the OSU-Tenn Playoff game on the 21st. I’m torn on whether or not snow is a good idea for that one though. It would be wild to watch a game in a snowstorm, but I’m not sure I want it for a game of that magnitude. I’m totally cool with the 22nd though.😂 2 1

Ohiobuckeye45 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 nothin doin on the GFS, basically an attempted repeat of the 2 wave mess we just had
Ohiobuckeye45 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 the trailing clipper is still there though
