ElectricStorm Posted October 30 Posted October 30 (edited) After a very boring last few months in the Plains, fall severe weather season has finally arrived with multiple troughs coming through over the next couple weeks. We start today with a 10 hatched enhanced risk The next system already highlighted by SPC behind it: 2024 currently sits at 4th place for Oklahoma tornadoes since records began in 1950 at 112. 2011 is 3rd at 119 so depending on how the next several days go we could reach that number. Crazy active year continues after a long break. Edited November 14 by ElectricStorm
Chinook Posted October 30 Posted October 30 This should get more active with severe storms and perhaps some dangerous tornadoes. There is not a tornado watch for northern Kansas at this time.
ElectricStorm Posted October 30 Author Posted October 30 10 hatched expanded south and now includes the OKC metro. Discrete cells firing SW of here now. Could be an interesting evening
ElectricStorm Posted October 31 Author Posted October 31 (edited) Cold front is now ahead of the line approaching OKC so tornado threat should be gone. Still a wind threat though. Edited October 31 by ElectricStorm
Chinook Posted October 31 Posted October 31 some radar images from tonight last chance for a big supercell might be ongoing north of Tulsa, but I think I'm going to say this was a bust on the tornadoes, and a somewhat successful forecast on wind/hail... maybe.
ElectricStorm Posted October 31 Author Posted October 31 Yeah trending towards a total bust tornado-wise. I don't think I've even seen a single tornado warning let alone anything confirmed. Hopefully these trends continue. Weakening line just came through here nothing crazy but better than anything we've had over the last few months
ElectricStorm Posted October 31 Author Posted October 31 Tornado warning now for Stillwell, OK about to move into AR. Also looking through Twitter there may have been a tornado near Wyandotte earlier
Chinook Posted November 2 Posted November 2 (edited) this might make things exciting (or flooding) for Oklahoma Edited November 2 by Chinook 1
ElectricStorm Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 Potentially strong tornado with PDS warning in OKC metro. More supercells behind it along with the QLCS. I might be up for a while... 1

ElectricStorm Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 Massive CC drop near Comanche, potentially violent tornado in progress. NWS Norman taking way too long issuing warnings tonight. Don't usually see this from them
voltwaffle Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Sirens went off about 10 minutes ago. Could see from the radar there was definitely rotation.
Chinook Posted November 3 Posted November 3 by the way, Today and tomorrow now have 10% tornado risks and 30% wind risks reports from "yesterday," that is, from before 12z. I hope everybody is alright in Oklahoma. I don't know if there have been severe damages or death/injury.
Chinook Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) this was not on the storm reports that I just posted-- the report of 5 NNE Byers, Clay County Texas was south of this. Rather oddly, the UTC time system is extremely helpful for nights like last night, when 1:01AM existed twice in the same night. Edited November 3 by Chinook 1
ElectricStorm Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 (edited) At least EF2 damage in OKC, EF1 in Newcastle and at least EF3 near Harrah (the bold PDS warning in my last post). Craziest 2% day I've ever been in Still several others yet to be surveyed Edited November 3 by ElectricStorm
Chinook Posted November 3 Posted November 3 (edited) very high 3000-3500 J/kg of CAPE for this time of year Edited November 3 by Chinook
Chinook Posted November 3 Posted November 3 this has everything. I hope those aren't tornadoes in Oklahoma
Chinook Posted November 3 Posted November 3 this storm is a long way from each radar, but could be a tornado at Lone Grove/Ardmore
