A few smaller scale days coming up, but ensembles are hinting at an uptick in severe weather potential as we get deeper into May. 

Went from a general T-storm area to a slight risk here at the last Day 2 update, so tomorrow could get interesting.

  at 45 mph.

  THESE ARE DESTRUCTIVE STORMS FOR THE HOUSTON METRO AREA.

  HAZARD...80 mph wind gusts.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be heavily damaged. Expect
           considerable damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles.
           Extensive tree damage and power outages are likely.

I haven't heard of a confirmed tornado yet, but base velocity values were very high, 70mph-120mph in north Houston. It's possible that not a lot of hail was in the storm. (although, kind of hard to believe)

Ohio tornado #57 confirmed from earlier today in Carroll County.

TORNADO #57 for OHIO CONFIRMED TODAY (Friday): The NWS confirmed by way of video that a brief tornado touched down in Carroll County, Ohio near Leesville Lake at around 1:30pm today (Friday). The tornado caused some damage to trees and to pontoon boats tied up at a local marina. The tornado has not yet been rated.

This brings Ohio's 2024 tornado count up to 57, which is currently ranked 3rd for the most tornadoes in a year since 1950. Last year, there were 60 tornadoes confirmed in Ohio. The record is 62, set back in 1992.

If you go due east of Dayton and due south of Riverside, where those 2 lines meet is about where i live. Never get that radar image out of my head.
